Summary of the Intervention / Research

Currently, the project is undergoing a revision that implies focusing on a combined behaviour/social norm change and economic empowerment approach with the following goal and objectives:

Project Goal: Contribute to the reduction of prevalence of VAWG within target families in four target villages of Jomi and Penjikent districts.

Project Objectives:

  • Improve gender attitudes, knowledge & behaviour amongst beneficiary families (including male and female family members) to reduce acceptability and perpetration of VAWG;
  • Empower beneficiary women and girls to contribute to family decision making, household finance and well-being through equal participation in family run enterprises; and
  • Produce rigorous evidence on whether a new model integrating behaviour/social norms change and economic empowerment is effectively tackling VAWG in Tajikistan.

Major Timeframes

The project will run for 3 years from 2016 and the endline results are expected in the second quarter of 2018
